My Special Alarm Clock

  • Mood:

Quote for today:  ...he is more faithful even than the most boasted among men; he is constant in his affection;...grateful for the slightest favours; much more mindful of benefits received... ~ Oliver Goldsmith, on the creature called dog

My dog Duchess ( a 7-year-old Cocker/Sheltie mix) reminded me this morning in her own particular way of something I should have put in my blog yesterday.

Even though I don't get up until late morning, I am awakened around 7 a.m. each Mon. - Fri.  No, not by hubby's alarm clock (which actually goes off at 6 a.m. and I sleep through it) or by hubby getting ready for work.

Duchess knows that my husband does not allow dogs in the bedroom.  So she waits until she hears him start his truck to go to work before she comes bounding into the room, jumps in the bed, and gives me a few licks on the nose or cheek!  That, then, is my chance to get up and start my day early.  But when I just moan and turn over, Duchess settles down beside me and goes back to sleep, too.

I just thought you might be interested in hearing about my furry alarm clock!  Shhhhh - don't tell the man of the house!

Sneddy, thanks for the tagline!  I'm glad you dropped by.
